Tech TrendsThe 2010 Horizon Report: Key Technology Trends in K-12 Education

This annual report highlights and summarizes key trends in K-12 education. These emerging technologies represent real-world applications and give a tantalizing view of what environments in which our graduating students will learn, work and live.

These emerging technologies are grouped in three “event horizons,” reflecting how widespread the technology is and how many years it might take for the technology to become mainstream. They are "One to Two Years: Cloud Computing and Collaborative Environments," "Three to Four Years: Game-Based Learning and Mobiles," and "Five to Six Years: Augmented Reality and Flexible Displays."
