Best practices for educating English-language learners

Some charter schools may provide a model of best practices for teaching English-language learners, according to a report by the Center for American Progress. The report found that four charters with high ELL and Latino achievement shared a number of strategies, including setting high expectations, accelerating the pace at which ELL students are taught grade-level material and teaching students English alongside core subjects.
