Be prompt |
|
- Each student will be expected to be in the classroom on time, be seated and working when the bell rings.
- If you have an excused absence, you will be expected to arrange a convenient time to makeup work missed. Generally, if you missed one day, you have one day to makeup work. It is the student's responsibility to find out what work was missed.
- Homework is due at the beginning of the hour on the due date.
- Only ONE assignment per marking period can be turned in late, and no later than one day past the deadline. If the assignment has already been graded and returned to students, the free pass cannot be used.
- Other than the free pass, NO late work accepted.

Be prepared |
|
- Each student must bring a writing instrument and any assigned materials to class each day and have them available at his/her desk when the bell rings.
- Accounting students will be required to use a a pencil on applications or have 10 percent deducted from each assignment.

| 3. |
Be productive |
|
- Only the last three minutes of class time may be used to clean up your work area.
- The teacher will tell students when it is time to begin cleaning up.
- Students must remain seated at the end of the hour.
- No standing by workstations or the doorway.
- The five minutes in between classes is the time to use the restroom.
- If you must use the restroom, you must get a hall pass AND have your planner.
- Only one hall pass will be allowed per marking period and only one person may be gone from the classroom at a time.
- If you have a medical problem requiring you to use the restroom frequently, please provide your instructor with a doctor's excuse.
- Other personal or school related items should be taken care of before, in between, or after classes--no exceptions.
- No e-mail, chat, or games played at any time in the classroom, unless it is part of the assignment.
- MP3 players, CD players, hand-held gaming devices, cell phones, etc. are not allowed in the classroom. These items will be confiscated, sent to the office, and a parent must pick them up.
- No assignments for other classes done during class time without permission.
- If you finish early, ask the teacher for the next project.
- Talking should not interfere with class performance.
- Save computer work periodically in case of power loss.
- Students found in prohibited sites (for example: MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, etc.) will lose computer privileges.
- No sleeping in class. Those that choose to sleepin class will be sent to the office.
- No horseplay in the classroom. This includes shooting baskets with the trash can, rolling around on chairs, or throwing anything. Keep your hands to yourself.

Be respectful |
|
- Each student is expected to clean up his/her workstation and put away all materials, tools, and supplies--this includes picking up papers, printouts, and waste paper.
- Do not use another student's login ID, Internet access, or network folders for any reason.
- Absolutely no CDs, flash drives, or similar items are to be brought in from outside this classroom. Only with the instructor's permission these items or other saving devices be allowed to be used to save or retrieve work.
- Headphones are to be used for educational purposes only; using headsets to listen to online music is not permitted.
- Do not change menu options, windows, screen backgrounds, or screen savers on the monitors.
- Deliberate destruction of computer programs/equipment will result in termination of this course.
- If you have a concern/conflict with any activity, or if you are faced with a personal crisis or emergency, please discuss it privately with the teacher immediately. Don't let a thought of anger or frustration build up.
- No food, pop, or other drinks are allowed in the classroom
- Water is okay if it is in a clear bottle and not sitting next to a computer; any equipment damaged by spilled water will be the student's responsibility at replacement cost.
- Gum is okay if it stays in your mouth and does not show up on chairs or floor, and wrappers are not left out.
- Absolutely no candy, suckers, etc.
- These privileges can be revoked at any time by the instructor.

Be ethical |

- In order to develop a proper attitude toward business ethics and plagiarism, cheating will not be tolerated.
- A first offense will result in a ZERO on the assignment and a zero FOR ALL PARTIES INVOLVED.
- In addition, each party will have an additional $10 deducted from his/her employability evaluation.
- Other consequences will follow as stated in the student handbook.
- Always login as yourself—do not login as someone else
- Do not plagiarize
- Be honest
- Only use your planner for passes

Be safe |
|
- Use only lab chairs for seats. No sitting on desks or workstations, no putting feet up on desks, or leaning back in chairs.
- Do not roll around the classroom on chairs.
