Metacrawlers offer an interface to a combination of many of the different search engines/directories.  For example, ithaki searches other search tools such ad DmozKids, Yahooligans, FactMonster, ArtKIDSRule, AolKIDS, AwesomeLibrary & KidsClick!. and gives the results from each one.  Be careful when using a metacrawler because they may not provide full coverage of the search engines with which they connect.
