Boolean searching may differ between the different search engines and
directories. There is usually a link that says advanced or advanced search
that takes you to a screen that helps with Boolean-type searching. The
following are examples of some symbols that can be included in search strategies:
Most use either the + for and and the - signs
for not.
Using quotation marks around words means the
words have to appear next to each other as a phrase.
An asterisk (*) is used by some a truncation
symbol.
Most let you search by a specific language
Some allow for capitalization searching
