Compliance

In general all information on your web site must comply with the EdZone Terms and Conditions. The following policies are designed to help you apply the Terms and Conditions in the way they were intended to be applied. When making material available to the public, you are responsible and liable for its distribution. EdZone does not regularly monitor your web site to assure your compliance with the Terms and Conditions and these policies. If you are in doubt about something, contact the EdZone Director immediately.

Limitations

Your web pages need to be under 5 MB in total size. If you go over this limit, you will be notified by the system administrator.

Copyrighted Material

You are responsible for assuring that all sites that you hyperlink to adhere to these policies. For example, you may not set a hyperlink to a site that offers illegal copies of software for downloading.

You may not make available copy-protected material for which you do not have the author's expressed permission. This includes, commercial software, digital music, and images.

Inappropriate Material

Material, either instructions or programs, that are intended to be used to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt the operation of or otherwise harm another computer may not be published on your web site. This material is sometimes referred to as "hacker" tools and software.

Material must be appropriate for all ages. Even though a joke or work of art may seem suitable for you, it may not be appropriate for all ages.

The distribution of some information is also prohibited. Publishing information which, if applied, creates a potential safety hazard is prohibited without the expressed written permission of the EdZone Director. Examples of such information would be plans for homemade exploding devices, recipes for drugs, and burglaring instructions.

Material that is likely to be offensive to any person or group for any reason (e.g. racial or religious) or material that is threatening or harassing toward any individual or group is prohibited.

Commercial Activity

Commercial activity is not allowed. One-time personal sales are allowed, but on-going commercial activity is not. You may link to and encourage people to visit commercial sites, but you may not be compensated for it. For example, if you want to sell your bike, you can put up a photo and a price for it, but if you are actively buying and selling used bikes, you may not use your site to display all your current, up-to-date offerings. You may however, link to another web site (presumedly on another server) that contains that information. Another example: if you sell real estate, you may make a page stating this and perhaps even list your e-mail address and business phone, but you may not maintain a list of your current housed for sale.

While you may make your political views known and even offer information on the position or candidate of your choice, you must not imply that your views are shared by either EdZone, MMNET, any local school district or any educational agency. You may even want to place a disclaimer on your site stating that "The views expressed are solely the authors and do not reflect views held by EdZone, MMNET, the author's local school district or any of their agencies."
