Secretary’s
Report:
Revision: The $50.00 approved for a bookcase for Mr.
Fidler was not for Mr. Fidler, but for Mr. Fidler to make a bookcase
for Mrs.
Zimmer in the media center.
Minutes
were approved
Treasurer’s
Report:
Current
remaining budget: $10,413.11.
Still a
lot of money to be paid out:
Several
teachers have not spent their field trip money
6th grade
adventure and celebration
End of
the Year Celebration
Agendas
for 2008-09
Fancher
card ordering
Start up
monies for 2008-09: Classroom, PTO
Spent
$1080.95 in funding to teachers for items PTO had not budgeted for
(classroom
magazines, books, Mock Rock, art hooks, piano tuning, CD player,
recycling
party)
Action
Item: PTO decided to eliminate
Safety Patrol as a budget line item because Safety Patrol essentially
does not
exist as it does at the elementary level. Replaced
Safety Patrol line item with a Recycling Party
line item for
$100.00.
Suggestions
for 2008-09:
Possibly
increase classroom start-up monies from $100 to $150.00 with no the
understanding there will be no additional individual classroom requests
PTO will
consider a budget line item to consider funding items that benefit the
entire
grade level or school, but not individual classroom requests (e.g. Mock
Rock,
CD player)
This
year the monies for the 6th grade celebration and
End of the Year Celebration are being combined to cover both events. This is an exception and they do not need to
be combined.
Family
Social Events: appears to be in the
“red”, but the amount budgeted $500.00 was only for Fancher Family Fun
Night
(FFFN). The Harvest Dance was also
hosted out of this money. FFFN actually
made $603.00 so it covered the cost of the event which was $578.36.
Hungry
Howies Fundraiser:
Made
more money than last year
Needs
better publicizing
Launch
in February
6th Grade
Adventure
Finck,
Yost, Klunzinger: Mackinaw Island
Ahrens
& Hall: Museum & Celebration
Cinema
Giegling
& Graham: No trip.
Wanted to go to Michigan Adventure, but MPPS
requires any school sponsored trip during the week to be educational.

Adventure
MPPS
requires any school sponsored trip during the week to be educational. Graham and Giegling willing to go on the
weekend to Michigan Adventure.
Bollman
and Teegardin question why we won't pay for a weekend trip. Told them to make going to Michigan Adventure
a learning experience by maybe mapping the route to get there, looking
at the
physics involved in roller coasters, perhaps meeting with a person from
Michigan Adventure. could explain the logistics of running a park on a
daily
basis, etc.
Bollman
and Teegardin will make sure Giegling and Graham are willing to turn
their
adventure into an "educational adventure" and let us know.
PTO would pay for the trip if
they did this and went during
the week.
